Motus, a memory palace in your environment that can act as your personal assistant. Create your own content and save it at a specific location along your journey. Keep your focus on the road while sharing your thoughts and experiences with the world. This system is meant for level 3 autonomous cars and higher.
The company Cerence, gave us the challenge to design an application for a multimodal interaction for a future car. The interaction modules we were supposed to use are voice recognition, eye tracking and gesture recognition. Furthermore, they asked us to connect the driver of the car with the environment outside the car.
While driving, you can create content like reminders, to-do lists, doodles, notes, messages, and place this on a location. When you drive-by such a location, your creation will be shown in the environment and you can receive the information. In addition, you can share your experiences and thoughts with other people and they can view it on their route. The concept targets the daily commuter and aims to create a memory palace in their environment that can act as a personal assistant, through regular use of the system.
Various ideation techniques were used to develop the concept. From acting out to VR simulations and experience prototypes. Additionally, elaborate research was done by use of focus group discussions and and user tests. Eventually, a high fidelity prototype was developed to communicate the concept and the interactions.
